GotAJob works because submissions are honest and useful. These guidelines exist so the next person reading your story can trust it.
What we ask of every story
- Real numbers. Share the actual salary, application count, timeline or other specific details that made your story useful.
- Honest source channel. Referral, recruiter, LinkedIn, job board, pick the one that actually got the conversation going.
- Specific writeups. "I worked hard" doesn't help. "I switched from broad applications to a target list of 30 SaaS companies" does.
What's not allowed
- Fake offers, companies or stories.
- Posting someone else's story as your own.
- Naming private people without consent.
- Hidden promotion or off-platform selling.
- Recruiting, scamming or manipulating rankings.
- Duplicate or mass-submitted posts.
- Hate speech, sexual or illegal content.
Anonymity
You can submit anonymously by changing your username to "anonymous" or any other pseudonym on your profile.
Moderation
Every new submission enters a moderation queue, where our team reviews it before it goes live. Most stories are approved within 24 hours. We may:
- Approve as-is.
- Approve after proofreading and editing.
- Reject with a one-line reason.
